BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Temperatures took a steep tumble in Buffalo on Saturday, dropping from a high of 68 degrees just shy of the lunch hour to the lower 40s in just a few hours time. That came courtesy of a cold front that swung through bringing with it showers and a couple of thundery downpours as well. Most of Western NY will stay dry Saturday night but clouds will remain persistent. Sunday still ends up being the "better" of the two weekend days, offering up more dry time, but also offering up a big change for the chillier. The thermometer never leaves the 40s all day long with winds off of Lake Erie still remaining a bit fresh. Don't expect any summer warmth any time soon. Pretty much all of next week features below average temperatures. The good news with that is that the cooler than normal weather will help to preserve some of the flowering trees that have budded across the region, which will keep that true look of spring going for a little while to come!
